I’m here!

Bonjour homies! So sorry it has taken me so long for another update. I’ve been supah busy! Last week and the beginning of this week I’ve been working on the fashion pages for the magazine I work for, so all my time has been spent styling a photo shoot, picking out clothes, going through clothes and photos, choosing locations and returning clothes to showrooms. I love being busy, so I’m not complaining!

I’ve only snapped a few foodie-shots the past couple of days since most of my eats have either been really sporadic or the same as what I always eat (i.e. the same thing you have seen on this blog forevah!) so I’ve skipped taking pictures of it. I have taken some pics though, so here’s some of what I’ve been eating lately.

Hugh salad and corn on the cob for dinner on Sunday.

Hugh salad and corn on the cob for dinner on Sunday.

On Sunday evening I made a big salad and had some new type of veggie balls in it. They were broccoli-something-or-other and I’m a huge fan of broccoli so I expected big things from this, turned out to be a bit of a dissapointment though. They were sweet in some odd way, so didn’t go with what I had imagined. The corn on the cob was the best and I’ve been having a cob with dinner almost every day lately. Other than the veggie balls there was also this in the salad: lettuce, 1/2 tomato, 1 beet, steamed broccoli, chunky salsa, cucumber and carrot.

Dinner after working all day! It was what I was craving!

Monday was the photo shoot and I got up super early, had a quick breakfast and then was off to get to work styling it all. We were working all day long and I only snacked on an apple quickly during the day. I got home past 7 pm to find that mom had been to the bakery and got some mini-baguettes! I threw together the above: mini-baguette with laughing cow cheese and cucumber, whole grain flakes with peach (1/4 of he peach on the side) and soy milk and a cup of honey vanilla chamomile tea. Hit the spot!

Big fruitbowl evening snack!

Big fruitbowl evening snack!

Here’s something I’ve been enjoying a bit lately as well. For an evening snack I’ve been putting together a big bowl of fruit to snack on. It’s so yum! I’ve been getting these big juicy peaches at the grocery store because they’re in season now. SO good! In the picture above is a cup of Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea and a bowl of some watermelon, 1/2 apple and a peach.

New tea!

New tea!

I picked up a new flavor of Celestial Seasonings tea yesterday, Bengal Spice. Yet another great flavor, very strong cinnamon flavor, smells divine!

And that’s about it for now. Tomorrow I’m meeting my brother for coffee and then in the evening going to meet my friend for coffee or we’re going to the movies to see Public Enemies. I’ve been trying to stop by your blogs and comment but like I said, I’ve been so busy so sorry for the lack of comments!

Shimmering, glowing sunshine!

My audition went well! I don’t want to get too ahead of myself in case they don’t give me the job but the woman said she thought I did really well and both her and the technician guy in the radio studio said “See you!” several times like they really counted on that I’d be doing the part. Awesome! We did two different scenes and it was a lot of fun since I’ve never recorded in a studio before. The production woman said she’d call me no matter what and let me know what their decision is. She talked to me about recording dates though and asked if I was free then (in July) so… fingers crossed now! We’ll see how it all goes, I’ll keep you posted!

After my audition I met up with a friend of mine who works nearby where I had my audition. She took a break from work and we went for a quick powerwalk-catch-up while she walked her dog. Then I went and finally got some more of my addiction, Celestial Seasonings true blueberry tea, which I’ve been having a cup of every evening lately. I sipped the last bag of it some time last week and have been trying to get to the only store that sells Celestial Seasonings for days now! I picked up some more true blueberry (obviously) and also got a Honey Vanilla Chamomile!

Wonderful Celestial Seasonings

The weather has been out of this world today! It’s been so sunny and warm I was about to pass out while running around town. Seriously people, it’s been so nice! It’s been real summer heat and just… glorious! As mentioned the weather has such an impact on the way I feel. If it rains I feel like poo but when it’s sunny I’m in a much lighter mood because then I can go out and move around and do stuff like exercising. Anyway, let’s move on to today’s eats, shall we?

09:25am Breakfast. Two thin rye crackers with cucumber and alfalfa (there’s a last slice of tofu papricano on one of them too). Plain soy yoghurt with a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds and a kiwi. A cup of organic green tea with aloe vera.

01:10pm Lunch. The crack. Wrap with Tofutti vegan cream cheese, lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber and smoked tofu. Plus a carrot on the side.

After lunch had digested I threw on some light clothes to go for a long powerwalk and jog in the heat. I went further than I usually do and ran a lot more too. I was sweatin’ up a storm ya’ll! I went for over an hour and then got home and threw myself (okay not threw literally but ya know…) on the floor to do my daily 100 crunches. And then I drank some protein.

4pm Protein shake. My ProSoy protein powder. I love how soy protein makes it go all frothy and lovely. There’s always a thick layer of foam on the top.

06:00pm Dinner. It’s been a while since I had a good salad so I threw one together this evening. In the salad: lettuce, 1/2 tomato, cucumber, alfalfa, sundried tomato. I topped it with a dressing I made using some strong mustard and plain soy yoghurt mixed with some water and pepper spice mix. On the side I had a carrot and a thin rye cracker.

09:00pm Evening snack. A crispy sliced apple, a carob topped rice cracker and a cup of Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea.

Exercise today:
1h 10min powerwalk/jog/run
20 min powerwalk in town
100 crunches

Happy Monday everyone!

Play dead?

Every once in a while I’m a stand-in in movies and TV shows, it’s a lot of fun and something I definitely enjoy. Since I was a kid I had this dream of becoming an actress, I took acting and drama classes and loved it. I still have that dream and we’ll see what happens with it.

This morning I got a call from a movie production company, they want me to be a stand-in in a TV series they’re filming in late June. It’s a bit of a more advanced stand-in role where I will be playing a dead person in a morgue and also filming a scene where I am being revived at a hospital. I got really excited about it, up until the point where they called me again later this afternoon and gave me the heads up that the morgue-scene is being filmed in an actual morgue…with real dead people around me. Um, okay then. I’m going to have to give this some serious thought, I don’t really know if I’m up to lying in a morgue surrounded by other dead people, I might panic. Especially since they informed me I will be closed in with the dead bodies for a while during taking. Eeek.

In other news! As I mentioned in my post this morning I was on my way out the door as I was writing. So here’s what else went down today:

9:55am Breakfast. Got up and had my usual breakfast, the last two slices of date bread with Tofutti vegan cream cheese, plain soy yoghurt with a kiwi and a tablespoon of ground flaxseed. And a cup of green tea with aloe vera hit the spot!

After letting my brekkie digest a bit I headed out for a powerwalk and run for an hour. When I got home I took a shower and got all dolled up, did some surfin’ on the net, blogging and blog-checkin’ and then headed out the door to go meet my brother in town to check out an exhibition he’s made along with his university class in a mall in town. It was very creative and cool. After checking that out we went to have a cup of coffee (I had a cup of rooibos tea) and talked for a good hour before he headed back to the mall. I didn’t get home until after 4pm so I figured I’d just wait a while and then made dinner.

5pm. Dinner. I crave this meal ya’ll, I loove it. This is my crack-meal, seriously! A flatbread with Tofutti vegan cream cheese, iceberg lettuce and cucumber topped with silken tofu that I mixed up with some herb salt and pepper-mix. In the bowl I had plain soy yoghurt with a peeled and chopped pink lady apple (le yum!) and I also made a protein shake with my prosoy-powder and soy milk.

Nothing good on TV on Thursdays but there were a couple of movies on so mom and I did some zapping and I had a little evening snack.

8:50pm Evening snack. A cup of Celestial Seasonings vanilla spice-something-or-other tea (I had the last bag of blueberry tea last night, t’was a sad, sad thing) and two carob covered rice crack(ers)!

Exercise today:
1h powerwalk/jog
100 crunches

I finished the second book in the Millenium-series by Stieg Larsson this morning (gaah, so exciting!) and started the third book now. It’s like over 700 pages and I’ve only read about 50 pages so far, but it’s already so nailbitingly good! So, as usual I’m about to crawl into bed and read a couple of more pages before hitting the lights and drifting off into dreamland.

Oh, and don’ t miss the fun giveaway over at A Year of Healthy Eating!

Hope you’ve had a fantastic Thursday!

Today, I’m leaving it up to you to ask me questions! Ask me anything in the comments section and I’ll answer the Q’s in my next post!

The movies!

This evening my mom and I went to see “Män som hatar kvinnor” (The girl with the dragon tatoo is the english title although that does NOT translate the Swedish title which directly translated would be: “Men who hate women”) at the movies. It’s based on the book I recently read by Stieg Larsson. It’s such a fantastic book and the movie was really good too! I’m just about finished with the second book (The girl who played with fire) and I just bought the third book in the series today. The second and third books are also being made into movies and hit screens this fall (in September and Novemer). The movie and books are crazy popular all over the world and have sold in millions and millons of copies worldwide and been translated to like a gazillion different languages.

In other news, I’ve got an appointment tomorrow morning so I’m hitting the sack soon (as always) to read a couple of more pages in my book and then hopefully get up at a decent hour tomorrow morning so I have time to go for a walk/run before my appointment. Today was another rather gray and cold day so I didn’t make it out on my powerwalk/run. I did however powerwalk to and from the grocery store (40 minutes) carrying suuuch heavy groceries on the way home. So I gave my tush some movement anyway!

I had an appointment this morning too, so I had breakfast when I got home. And as you see, it wasn’t exactly a surprise… (I swear I’m not just recycling my pictures every day!)

11:15am Breakfast. Two slices of date bread with Tofutti vegan cream cheese. Plain soy yoghurt (love!) with 1 tbs ground flaxseed and a small peeled and diced apple.

3pm Lunch. About 1/4 of a really yummy mango. And my wrap filled with iceberg lettuce (in not as crazy portions as yesterday), cucumber, Tofutti vegan cream cheese and plain tofu. I also had a protein shake.

My mom and I headed out to the movies around five-ish and by then I wasn’t hungry so I figured I’d just have an evening snack when I got home. I got kind of hungry during the movies but had a lovely evening snack planned already and skipped right to it when we got home.

9:45pm Evening snack. Two thin cracker-breads (called “Rån”) with some Tofutti vegan cream cheese, a slice of Tofu papricano and some cucumber. And a tiny and very crisp apple. In the duck-mug this evening was a new tea my mom and I bought at the grocery store on our way home – Celestial Seasonings Organic Sweet Clementine Chamomille. It was very tasty!

Exercise today:
40 minute powerwalk
100 crunches

And with that I shall bid you farewell for this time my lovelies. I can’t wait to hop into bed and continue reading my exciting book!
