Variety Monday

Thank you for your comments yesterday. Hayleigh from Inner Wellness suggested that putting some variety into my meals might help. This is definitely something I need to work on and have been thinking about for a long time. I get hung up on certain meals and just keep eating the same thing every single day. Um, BORING. So, today I made sure to switch it up. Varying my meals will be my challenge this week. Please help me out by giving me all of your best and healthiest breakfast, lunch and dinner suggestions!

Without further ado, I present to you – FOOD.

10:25am Breakfast. Okay, cut me some slack, I know this isn’t all that different but it was morning and my brain had not started to fully function yet. So I made, banana and kiwi fruit salad, two rice crackers with hummus and some sprouts. And green tea (this is a must for me).

2:15pm Lunch. Whaat? No oats?! Nope, not today. I had my greens for lunch today and whipped up my standard salad (lettuce, tomato, carrot, alfalfa sprouts, arugula, white beans, sundried tomatoes, tahini dressing and herb salt). On the side I had a whole wheat scone my mom baked yesterday, I sliced it in two and toasted it. These scones were really good, I’m going to have to ask my mom how she made them. They had coconut, hazelnut and apple in them and tasted nice without any toppings, I had it with my tea as a lunch dessert.

5:15pm Dinner. Please excuse the gross picture! I got a good amount of veggies today. This is a concoction I threw together: Organic Brown Rice & Wakame noodles (wheat and gluten free), white beans, 1/2 cup spinach, 1/4 cup stiryfry veggies, 1/4 cup tamari soy sauce for flavor. All boiled in water. On the side I had two organic sea vegetable rice cakes. Wasn’t as bad as it looks.

Total calories today: 1 035 kcal
Exercise today:
40 minutes powerwalk
100 crunches
60 side crunches (30 each side)

In other news…
1. Bikram yoga tomorrow morning, finally! Wohoo!
2. I won the PURE bar giveaway at Carrots n’ Cake!
3. I’m participating in Oh She Glows – Bikini Body Boot Camp: Unfortunately the time difference messes it up a bit for me so I don’t see the daily challenges until the evening. My goal is to just exercise as much as possible so that I can see some results by the end of OSG-BBBC. It’s a fabulous challenge and I’m happy Angela set it up!

  1. Your dinner doesn’t look gross – I actually thought *yum*! Fav healthy meal… must be maroccan veggie tagine stew with couscous – soooo many ingredients but soooo worth it and very healthy.
